 Developers: Bend Studio It is a third-person action-adventure video game set in a post-nuclear future. It's up to the player to take control of the nomadic Deacon St. John, once an outlaw turned vagrant and cucum-bounty hunter. There has been an epidemic that has decimated the human race and turned millions into "Freakers," mindless zombie-like monsters who develop swiftly. At night, the Nocturnal Swarmers, one form of Freaker, gather, hunt for food or water, then hide in their nests during the day. By leading hordes of Freakers towards other adversaries, players may exploit the Swarmer's behavior. Players must retain their distance from the horde or risk being overrun. Choke locations, such as tight spaces between buildings and rooftop ledges, may be found in areas surrounding hordes of Freakers. Individual Freakers may be killed by Deacon using traps and explosives. There are also newts, who are diseased teenagers that are opportunistic hunters and attack Deacon when he enters their territory or is in low condition. Animals and humans are both diseased and hostile in the game.    The Pacific Northwest is the setting for the game. Players may explore the planet on foot or with a motorbike, whatever method they like. The bike is rendered inoperable if it is severely damaged when traveling long distances. The bike must be refueled on a regular basis at gas stations and camps, and it may be repaired using the scraps the player collects. By performing tasks and selling bounty and wild-caught food, Deacon must build trust with settlement camps and earn "camp credits." New weaponry, supplies, and motorbike components may be purchased as the degree of trust rises, allowing players to boost the motorcycle's speed, durability, and maneuverability.
