About Half Life: Alyx

A game designed for VR, Alyx NoVR still works well without a headset. You shoot headcrabs and grab items using gravity gloves just like in any regular first-person shooter. We did have to restart a few times to sort out some interactions during tests, though.

The mod uses tricks to simplify parts designed for hand tracking. For example, an early puzzle where you trace wires on a wall with your hands is now solved by pressing the E key.

Even with basic controls, some actions feel less immersive on a flat screen. Opening doors loses the physicality of grabbing a handle when replaced by just pressing a keyboard button. Using a keyboard to activate a health kit on the wall lacks the same feeling as sticking your arm in and seeing it get fixed in VR.

What is Half-Life: Alyx NoVR mod?

Half-Life: Alyx first came out only with the requirement to play using a virtual reality (VR) headset. A "NoVR" mod lets you play Half-Life Alyx at its full potential without a headset!

1. Install NoVR Update #6 to let the game run on flat screens with a keyboard and mouse. Skip this step if you want to play in VR gear.
2. If you delete the mod later to play in VR (or to upgrade the mod to a new version), run "Remove NoVR Mod.bat" in the main game folder.

How to download and install

1. Make sure that you have uTorrent client installed on your PC (for magnet downloads).
2. Select the version and click on the Download button (press Open uTorrent button in pop-up window).
3. Locate the directory to save game files (e.g. C:\My Files\Games) and begin the downloading process.
4. After the downloading process is finished, search for ReadMe file if there is one and read the instructions.
5. Run the Setup file if there is one or mount the .iso file using Daemon Tools software or similar (keep in mind that you must have enough space on your PC to complete installation).
6. Copy all the files from Crack directory (if needed) to game directory where you have installed (e.g. C:\My Games\Half Life: Alyx).
7. Launch the game and enjoy!
Notes: We mainly focus to upload the RePacks, so you just need to launch the Setup and install the game. So there is no need to apply the crack, just launch the game from desktop icon. Also, they require less storage space.
