The plot revolves on the customary Marvel catastrophe that threatens the whole world. The brains of the Andromeda Galaxy are being corrupted by a hyper-religious stellar church. Even though the odds continue to stack up against us, our motley gang is here to stop it. Even if the Guardians are really a horde of selfish scumbags, at least they have a good heart. Despite my initial disinterest, Guardians does an excellent job of mixing the super-high stakes with the claustrophobic worries of its protagonists. The first casualty of the cult? One of Star-possible Lord's illegitimate offspring. Drax is a sculpted meathead. How could a group of daffy revered geeks possibly entice him? The memories of his deceased wife and children might be a way to bring him back.

Guardians' moral choice framework, which is plainly taken from Telltale's tradition, supports all of this. With Star-help, Lord's the team's strategy and stance have a little effect on the story. Commander Shepard sponsored elliptical therapy sessions on the Normandy during intermissions between missions, so you may do the same with the crew on the ship. Even while the authors are obviously constrained by Marvel canon, some of their own touches were nevertheless exciting to behold.

I'd want to stress once again that Guardians of the Galaxy is a one-on-one, story-driven game. Disembarking on a variety of well-known Marvel locations, you battle through magnificent passageways that are infrequently interrupted by lengthy cutscenes. In a nice manner, this makes the game a dinosaur. It's not necessary to satisfy a set amount of resources to unlock certain of the assault unlocks. Zero minutes of your time will be spent looking at talent trees or defensive numbers. For a moment, I assumed the characters would be cinched by some kind of gloomy meta-grind and an in-game real-money shop, but they weren't. It's not like you're going to stumble into them by accident; they're hidden away in the most inaccessible places. In this way, it's similar to the Uncharted and God of War series in terms of narrative traditions. However, Eidos does a good enough job here to be listed with the inspirations stated above.

Here, I get to the crux of my problem with Guardians. This game is regularly and blatantly buggy. During one hour of play, I had three separate crashes. There were three distinct freezes, one of which took an alt-F4 to get out of. The first enemy I encountered slowed down many times while I shot away at its tentacles, inflicting a ton of cheap damage on it in the process. Star-phantom Lord's pit was often mistaken by the game for a real pit, and I was sent back to it indiscriminately. Certain advancement choke-points wouldn't activate until I reloaded checkpoints.
